The University of Texas at Arlington traces its beginnings back to a private school, Arlington College, at the site in 1895. Historian, author and educator. Born 1933 in Columbus, Ohio. Received B.A. and M.A. degrees from Texas Tech University and Ph. D. (1967) from Texas Christian University. Joined the faculty of the University of Texas at Arlington in 1967, and was made full professor in 1983.
